The bluegrass band Kreni comes from Karvina which is situated in the Czech Republic.
The band was estabilished in the autumn 2000. At the beginning it was a big enthusiasm which motivated the band to go in for bluegrass.
The occasional playing has changed into intensive work and Kreni got to the stages in whole Czech Republic.
They have also visited Poland, Germany, Netherlands, Lithuania, Hungary and Slovakia.
The band Kreni plays bluegrass regardless of inspiration with the classical records coming from the
50'ies and 60'ies (Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, Jimmy Martin and many
others) or in the contemporary bluegrass music (Lonesome River Band, Blue
Highway, Rice Bros, IIIrd Tyme Out etc.).
The effort of the band is that nobody doubts the music they play is bluegrass.
The band members want to play they own music, they try to realize themself.
It is naturally connected with writing own songs and instrumentals. The repertoir is sung in English and in Czech.
